Founded by filmmakers Miguel de Oliveira, Monica Vilela and Bruno Tore, MOMI FILMS NY is an independent full service production company based in New York State.
We work with small budgets and big ideas... or big budgets and big ideas... you get the idea!

miguel de oliveira
Born in Portugal, where he worked as an actor and studied Film at the Autonoma University of Lisbon, Miguel de Oliveira is an award winning director, screenwriter, producer and actor.
Miguel has directed five shorts films, including “Birth Control“; “Simpatia do Limão” (selected at more than 30 festivals and winner of 6 best film awards); “Benches (Award of Merit winner at Lucerne Film Festival and nominated for the Grand Prize of Brazilian Academy of Cinema); “502” (selected at the Cannes Short Film Corner) and “Banho Maria” (nominated for the 2014 Grand Prize of Brazilian Academy of Cinema and also selected at the Cannes Short Film Corner).
Currently based in New York, he co-founded the production company MOMI FILMS NY with Monica Vilela and Bruno Toré.
monica vilela
Monica Vilela is a producer and actress born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As a Luso–Brazilian artist, she has lived between Portugal and Brazil, working as an actress, producer and director of several short films and theater plays.
In New York, she co-founded MOMI FILMS NY with Miguel de Oliveira and Bruno Toré.
Besides producing every film under MOMI Films, Monica has also produced the shorts “The Boy and the Balloon”, by Kyle Glasow; “Flipside”, by Moema Umann” and worked as a production manager in the experimental feature film “Huang Yi + Kuka”, directed by Moema Umman.
BRUNO TORÉ
Bruno Toré is an award winning freelance editor based in New York. He is interested in blurring the lines between genres and has years of experience in directing, cinematography and editing, around the globe.
As an editor, his work has screened at over 40 festivals worldwide including The Montreal World Film Festival, Tribeca, Palm Springs, Rio Film Festival and was once shortlisted for the Academy Awards®. Commercial and branded content includes industry heavy-hitters such as Nike, Google, AT&T, Volvo, Adidas, Master Card, Smirnoff, Budweiser, Calvin Klein, Samsung, among others.
Bruno edited every MOMI Films short and was recently honored with BRONZE - Craft - Editing for Branded Content at the 2018 Telly Awards.
GUILHERME PEDRA
INTERN
Guilherme Pedra is a Brazilian filmmaker based in New York. He holds a BFA in Film and TV Production from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and has been working at MOMI FILMS since late July 2019.
